The McCormick X1 Series is a compact tractor platform engineered to deliver measurable capability in a small, maneuverable package. It is designed for property owners, small farms, municipalities, and operations that need reliable loader performance, PTO power, and three-point capacity without moving into a utility-size chassis.

Powertrain and horsepower
X1 models typically range from approximately 24 to 55 engine horsepower, depending on configuration. Engines are naturally aspirated or turbocharged 3- or 4-cylinder diesel units designed for smooth, fuel-efficient operation and strong low-end torque. This power profile supports frequent starts and stops, light draft work, and consistent PTO operation for mowing and snow equipment.

Transmission and ground speed control
The X1 Series is available with mechanical gear transmissions and hydrostatic (HST) options. Hydrostatic models provide infinite speed control within ranges, ideal for loader work, snow removal, and tasks requiring frequent direction changes. Mechanical transmissions offer efficient power transfer and simple operation for operators who prefer traditional gearing. Maximum transport speeds typically reach approximately 15–18 mph, depending on configuration.

Hydraulic system capacity
Hydraulic output is sized for compact-class work while exceeding typical lawn and garden equipment capability. Total hydraulic flow is commonly in the range of approximately 30 to 45 liters per minute (8–12 gallons per minute), depending on model. This supports front loaders, power steering, and rear remote functions where equipped, with predictable response and adequate cycle times for compact loaders.

Three-point hitch and lift capacity
The rear three-point hitch is typically Category 1, with lift capacities commonly ranging from approximately 2,200 to 3,500 pounds at the ball ends, depending on model and configuration. This allows the X1 to handle rotary cutters, tillers, box blades, rear blades, post-hole augers, and other compact implements with confidence.

PTO performance
The X1 Series typically offers 540 RPM rear PTO configurations, with mid-PTO options available on certain models for mid-mount mowers or front-mounted attachments. PTO engagement is smooth and well suited for mowing decks, snow blowers, tillers, and light PTO-driven implements. PTO horsepower output aligns closely with engine size, supporting continuous light-to-moderate PTO loads.

Weight, chassis, and stability
Operating weight typically ranges from approximately 2,800 to 4,500 pounds, depending on model, cab, and ballast. The compact wheelbase and balanced chassis design provide good stability for loader work and hillside operation when properly ballasted, while maintaining excellent maneuverability around buildings, driveways, and tight work areas.

Loader and front-end capability
Factory-integrated loaders for the X1 Series typically offer lift capacities in the range of approximately 1,200 to 2,500 pounds at full height, depending on loader and tractor model. This capacity is well suited for handling mulch, gravel, snow, feed, small round bales, and palletized materials commonly encountered in compact tractor applications.

Operator environment and controls
ROPS and cab configurations are available depending on model. Operator stations emphasize simplicity, visibility, and ease of use, with logically arranged controls and comfortable seating. Cab models offer climate control and weather protection for year-round operation, while open-station models prioritize affordability and ease of access.

Intended role on the property or farm
The X1 Series is designed for operators who need real tractor functionality in a compact footprint. It fits applications such as acreage maintenance, landscaping, snow removal, livestock chores, mowing, and light ground engagement, where versatility and maneuverability matter more than maximum horsepower.

Built on proven McCormick engineering, the X1 Series delivers practical horsepower, usable hydraulic capacity, and dependable lift performance in a compact tractor platform designed for everyday work.
